Kb. 10 napja szcientológus reklámok jelentek az amerikai TV-adók legdrágább reklámhelyein. A Village Voice olvasói szerint a Golden Globe díjátadó gála, a Miss America szépségverseny és egy amerikaifoci-meccs közben is megjelent egy ilyen reklám, majd 1 hétre rá az American Idol reklámblokkjában is feltűnt.
Az "egyház" volt marketingese, Jeff Hawkins szerint ez egyfajta válasz arra a vádra, amely nemrég érte az egyházat, miszerint csak felhalmozzák a pénzt, és nem költik el arra, amire beszedik. Hozzátette, hogy ezek célja nem a "térítés", hanem a meglévő anyagi támogatók megnyugtatása, hogy tényleg megfelelően használják fel az adományaikat.
